When Collaboration Sparks Creativity
One of the most unexpected gifts in my business this year has been finding the kind of collaboration that genuinely fuels me. When I met Rose in a Virtual Assistant business course back in June, we clicked instantly. We swapped ideas, swapped TV shows, and discovered we had the same mix of curiosity, drive, and honesty. Before long, our early-morning coffee chats became a weekly ritual. And honestly, they quickly became one of the highlights of my week.
What made those conversations so meaningful wasn’t accountability. It was connection. It was having someone who understood the ups, downs, and “what even is this” moments of entrepreneurship. We weren’t trying to fix each other’s problems. We were offering perspective. We celebrated small wins together, talked through messy first drafts of ideas, and helped each other refocus when business “shiny objects” tried to pull us in five directions at once.
When her schedule shifted and we paused our calls, I realized how much I missed that creative spark. I can organize myself just fine, but I can’t recreate the magic that happens when another sharp, thoughtful, excited mind joins the conversation. That kind of synergy is something you feel.
Now that we’ve started meeting again, that spark is back. And it’s reminded me of something important: entrepreneurship doesn’t have to be lonely for you to still be independent. You can be self-driven and still lean on the right people. You can be strong on your own and still thrive with a partner who adds clarity, perspective, and energy to your ideas.
Collaboration doesn’t just make your work better. It makes the whole experience richer, lighter, and a lot more enjoyable. And sometimes, the difference between feeling stuck and feeling inspired is as simple as one good conversation with the right person.
