I had the good fortune to work with Amanda while awaiting my upcoming term as President of our local PMI chapter, where she had just been elected Vice President of Technology. Just as she entered her term, COVID struck, and the Board of Directors had to pivot from in-person programs to online presentations, for which we had no infrastructure in place.
In addition to managing the website rebranding with her web services team and our service provider, Amanda created and staffed a new technology team for the virtual presentations. She led the team in procuring the most cost-effective platform for the chapter to use for the virtual presentations.She went on to create the technology team’s queuing and facilitation process for all virtual chapter events. She trained her team and coordinated with the Board to efficiently manage the virtual programs from the point of registration, through event hosting to post event follow-ups. Her leadership, delegation skills, and ability to pivot was exactly what the chapter needed at the moment.
When Amanda had to step back for medical reasons, the infrastructure, training and autonomy she had provided her team enabled them to maintain our website and continue to run our virtual events. Amanda achieved this by applying an array of project management tools and techniques from both traditional and Agile frameworks.
